A static individual is a dreamer, lost in thought and alone in this city of dreams.
Static Bombay is a documentation of the working class in the city of Bombay, now known as Mumbai, in India. It visually resonates with the working class across cultures and geographies while being aurally open to interpretation and re-contextualisation. The film observes individuals at work and home while accentuating their voicelessness. Through its obtrusive observation, Static Bombay attempts to politicise the gaze of the camera and the 'spectator'.
